Phew!

In further developments in the "cricketers saved from terrorism through flannelled excellence" story...

News Ltd cricketing journalist Robert Craddock writes: "the thought of a cricket ground being targeted confirms that the terrorists have no shame".

Well, yes. Sure, there were 52 people killed and 700 injured in the London bombings, but we had no idea how bad it could have been. We had no idea the depths these people were willing to stoop to.

I suppose we should be grateful that something -call it their better nature, call it divine humanity - stayed their hand, stopped these terrorists from doing something really awful, and that they decided to take only mild action and slaughter some smelly commuters, rather than gods amongst men such as test cricketers.

Shameless indeed, Mr Craddock. A cricket ground? What were they thinking? What makes an ordinary homicidal jihadist go so wrong as to contemplate such a thing? It just makes you shake your head.

Hu?
BenP? What are you thinking. An ordinary homicidal jihadist? Oh my what is normal about a homicidal jihadist? Good greif man! There is nothing normal about them. Your words should answer your question.

Hey, Anonymous, homicidal jihadists are people too. If you prick them, do they not bleed? If you insult their prophet, do they not blow themselves up in a cafe? Just like us?

Christ, dude, show a little bit of empathy. I bet you don't like child molesters either.

Benj, it looks like you'll have to start inserting emoticons or something.. Like, I dunno, "[cue sarcastic undertone]"? Cos, y'know, people don't get it. Sheesh. I feel your pain.

And, Mr or Mrs Anon up there? Breathe, dude.

Cheerio,

Le Gateau. (Not at all related to other Anonymouses around here.)

Heh, when I saw that "Anonymous" had posted another comment, I thought they'd come back to say "Well, no, I DON'T like child molesters ACTUALLY. You DO? I think that's SICK! You're DISGUSTING!"
