Sheikh, Rattle, and...oh, forget it

Today, we examine the comments of Australia's Grand Mufti, Sheikh Taj Al Din El-Hilaly, who made some scholarly comments on rape and adultery recently, the most scholarly of all, as measured in volume of "huh?" being this little gem, on the responsibility of women to "cover up":
"If you leave uncovered meat out, and hungry cats come and eat it, whose fault is it, the cats or the meat?"
Let's absorb that for a moment, shall we? Let it sink in.
I believe he is saying that when meat gets eaten by cats, it's the meat's fault. I'm not quite sure I can get on board with this strand of Islam. Surely it's the fault of the person who left the meat out, isn't it? The meat, if we're to be totally fair, hasn't exctly done anything. In fact, meat rarely does do anything. Then again, it is very tempting...
In fact, I can say that if more meat stayed at home wearing a hijab, I would be much thinner and wouldn't get a tingling feeling in my arm whenever I have to get up and look for the remote.
So yes, it IS the meat's fault. Enough of this cat-bashing! It's not the cat's fault the meat was left out, and it's not the leaver-out's either. Meat has wily ways, particularly veal.
In fact, I say it's the cow's fault for batting those come-hither eyes at the farmer. Did the cow ASK to be slaughtered? Perhaps not explicitly, but when a cow says no, sometimes she means yes.
Yes indeed, if anyone is responsible for pack rapes, it's cows.
Glad we got that sorted out.
And incidentally, did you used to have "mufti days" at school? We did. We didn't have to wear uniform on mufti day. I guess in today's mufti days, the boys dress as cats, the girls dress as uncovered meat, and everyone goes and insults some cows.
